Variation 1: High Intensity Passing Drill

This drill is designed to improve passing accuracy and speed. Here’s how it works:

  1. Set up a triangle grid with cones, approximately 10 yards apart.
  2. Divide the players into two teams, positioned on opposite sides of the grid.
  3. Start the drill by having one player from each team pass the ball to their teammate on the opposite side using one touch.
  4. Encourage players to communicate and move quickly to create passing options.
  5. Continue the drill for a set period of time, then switch the teams’ positions.

Variation 2: Ball Control and Shooting from the Center

This drill focuses on improving ball control and shooting accuracy, particularly from the center of the field. Here’s how to set it up:

  1. Place cones to create a shooting zone in the center of the field.
  2. Divide the players into two teams, with one team positioned inside the shooting zone and the other team outside.
  3. Start the drill by passing the ball to a player inside the shooting zone.
  4. That player must control the ball and quickly shoot on goal.
  5. After each shot, the player who took the shot joins the team outside the shooting zone, and a new player enters the shooting zone.
  6. Continue the drill for a set period of time, then switch the teams’ positions.
